Triumph by Conquering Crippling Self-Talk!

Once you choose to banish the negative chatter in your head, your mind is free to embrace your goals whole-heartedly. This simple step separates the winners from, well, the losers.

Jack Canfield, Napoleon Hill, James Allen, Ben Franklin, Patricia Neal and so many other inspiring personalities, including the Bible, counsel us to watch what we say to ourselves.

Jack Canfield, in his book, The Success Principles, says, “You only have control over three things in your life – the thoughts you think, the images you visualize, and the actions you take (your behavior). How you use these three things determines everything you experience. If you don’t like what you are producing and experiencing, you have to change your responses.” EXACTLY! This is the trifecta for success.

Napoleon Hill, in Think and Grow Rich, says “Our minds become magnetized with the dominating thoughts we hold in our minds and these magnets attract to us the forces, the people, the circumstances of life which harmonize with the nature of our dominating thoughts.” In essence, we get what we think about, from the people we attract to the experiences we live. Our thoughts are the determinants of those outcomes.

James Allen, wrote the book, As a Man Thinketh, and says, “A man’s mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will, bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abundance of useless weed seeds will fall therein, and will continue to produce their kind.” I couldn’t agree more! What we sow, we reap-so sow positive seeds!

One of Ben Franklin’s top quoted sayings is, “Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain – and most fools do.” What does complaining, condemnation, and criticizing get you? More of the same! Again, we attract what we think about.

Patricia Neal, Oscar-winning actress who faced several tragedies including recovering from a series of strokes, says, “A strong positive mental attitude will create more miracles than any wonder drug.” I, personally, can attest to this. In my book, I share my challenges and how I eventually overcame them. But the key factor in my recovery was never giving up!

And lastly, the Bible has numerous references, but my favorites are, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8, and “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” Ephesians 4:29. God commands us to stay positive and reject negativity. Simple as that.

There are too many leaders who insist on maintaining a positive mental attitude in order to achieve your goals to quote here,
and just as many who teach focusing on them through visualization and using pictures as vivid reminders of what we are striving for to get us there as quickly as possible.

In my latest video blog, I detail how I maintain a positive attitude and share those steps with you. Here is a recap those 5 steps:

1. Believe in yourself! Remain confident and self-assured.

2. Maintain a positive mental attitude. Choose happiness, find the silver linings in challenges.

3. Banish critical voices & self-doubt, watch your self-talk. You are who you hang out with, be mindful of all the messages you allow into your psyche.

4. Remain motivated and inspired. Find that fire in your belly… that get up and go. Never stop yearning to achieve your aspirations.

5. Have courage, remain steadfast, determined, and persistent.

Are you in the middle of a crisis or transition? I’m here for you. You are NOT your situation. Miracles happen every day. Allow yourself to become the miracle. It all starts with your mindset.

Choosing happiness, focused actions, and success is so much more fun than wallowing in self-pity, suffering, and complaining. They just bring you down. Achieving your financial goals is a lot easier with a HarMoneyousTM mindset. Listen to my vlog now to get the details.

What’s your next move? (Maybe watch the video blog to get started?) The choice is yours. You can do this!
